Basketball.....is tough to shoot

Well, a friend of mine asked if I could take some pictures of their daughter's highschool basketball game. This was a new experience for me, since I primarily shoot my kids soccer. A few rules to consider:

Canon 20D, 70-200mm f2.8 (L Series)
  • Shoot from the end of the court, so that you can catch the players' faces.
  • A zoom lens is helpful since the action moves so fast.
  • A fast lens is required (f2.8 or better).
  • Anticipation is a must. I took the best shots when I anticipated where the pass was going to be made.
  • ISO of 800 or higher is required for the lower lighting conditions
