Summer Girls Basketball

Summer basketball season is in full swing. My daughter normally plays soccer 12 months a year, but helps her friend’s b-ball team in the summer months. I took these using my 50mm f1.8 Canon lens. It's relatively inexpensive (around $70) and takes decent shots in low light conditions. I left the ISO at 400 since I'd prefer less noise versus perfect lighting.

A Boy and His Viper.....Say No More.

University of Notre Dame Soccer Camp

What a great experience the girls had at ND's soccer camp this past week. They played 20+ hours of soccer over 4 days. I used my 300 mm f4 lens (L series prime) with a 1.4x teleconverter for these shots. This was my first time with this combination, and they turned out pretty good. I stood on the end line which helped so that I could capture the action coming straight at me.

Looking Through the Trees

I took a couple shots looking straight up through the trees in Northern Ontario, Canada. On a bright sunny day, the details of the leaves and branches really shine. I kept the f-stop around 4.5 - 5.0 since there was no background (other than blue sky) to blur.

Flying to the Moon

I captured these seagulls flying over the Chi-Cheemaun (http://www.boatnerd.com/pictures/fleet/chicheemaun.htm) while traveling in Ontario, Canada this past week......just dumb luck? Actually the first one was simply luck, but the second shot was planned.
