Canon 28 - 135mm IS Lens

I recently picked up a Canon 28-135mm IS lens in place of my older 28-200mm that I sold. This lens has advantages of lighter weight plus image stabilization. The reviews are mixed; however, it seems to be a great walk-around lens and will probably be the single lens I carry when traveling.

True for its light weight. I thought the zoom is a little nervous with background bokeh rendering and a little soft corner performance

I would agree with your comments. I also have the 24-70mm and 17-40mm, but I wanted some more reach.

As a Nikon guy, I use Nikon's 18-200mm VR lens as my single travel lens. However, I use Nikon's 18-70mm and the 50mm for higher quality walk-around shots when not traveling. Here's a vacation shot with the 18-200mm
